History
Ives Bros. Inc. began delivering ice and oil back in 1917. Back then ice was harvested from nearby lakes, and most of the oil deliveries were “range oil” used for cooking.
Ives Bros. Inc. has delivered uninterrupted service through two world wars, one Great Depression and the placement of a man on the moon. We’ve built a reputation for honesty and integrity that has lasted 90 years and three generations.
If you bought a bag of ice at a convenience store, package store, campground or small supermarket in Eastern Connecticut, that bag of ice was quite possibly one of ours, made right here at 1244 Main Street in Willimantic.
Our ice delivery service has now become a thing of the past, which gives us more time to focus on keeping our oil customers comfortable at home.
For 87 years, Ives Bros. Inc. delivered home heating oil from Willimantic to an area stretching two towns away in each direction. Then, in 2004, Ives Bros. Inc. added Woodstock, Putnam, Danielson, Pomfret and Plainfield to our service area.
In 2008, after receiving many phone calls throughout the year from people in the Colchester, East Hampton and East Haddam areas asking for our services, we expanded our range to encompass those areas as well. We welcome the opportunity to work for you.
